My Neighbor (Sunday Teaser)

25Just then a religion scholar stood up with a question to test Jesus. "Teacher, what do I need to do to get eternal life?" 26He answered, "What's written in God's Law? How do you interpret it?" 27He said, "That you love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence--and that you love your neighbor as well as you do yourself." 28"Good answer!" said Jesus. "Do it and you'll live." 29Looking for a loophole, he asked, "And just how would you define "neighbor'?" (Luke 10:25-29 The Message)

So a Christian is somebody who understands this, who understands that people with different perspective and different religious beliefs and convictions, theyre to be loved and respected, because they're made by God, and they're sacred and they're valuable and they matter. God loves the world, so a Christian does too. - Rob Bell

36"Teacher, which command in God's Law is the most important?" 37Jesus said, ""Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' 38This is the most important, the first on any list. 39But there is a second to set alongside it: "Love others as well as you love yourself.' 40These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them." (Matt. 22:36-40 The Message)

35This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples--when they see the love you have for each other." (John 13:35 The Message)

But maybe you're a Christian, and you're sitting there nodding, and you're agreeing with me and you're going, Yeah! You tell em! Its about time somebody said that! But, what are you doing to change the perception, because that's what it is. - Rob Bell
